What Are Candle Filter Sleeves and Bags?
Candle filters are vertical pressure or vacuum leaf filters in which a tubular filter element (the candle) is submerged in the slurry. The candle sleeve or bag is the filtration medium that fits over each candle frame. Liquid passes inward through the sleeve under pressure or vacuum, depositing a filter cake on the outer surface. At the end of the cycle, the cake is discharged by back-blowing or mechanical vibration.
