What Are Pulverizer Sleeves?
Pulverizer sleeves are cylindrical or conical filter bags fitted to the classifier outlets and vent connections of coal pulverizers, hammer mills, and ball mills. As the pulverizer grinds coal or mineral ore to fine powder, the air circulation inside the mill carries fine particles into the classifier section. Pulverizer sleeves intercept these fine particles — capturing them for return to the mill or collection in the hopper — while allowing clean air to pass through to the exhaust fan. The sleeves must withstand high velocity abrasive dust contact and the mechanical vibration transmitted from the grinding mill.
