Continuous High-Throughput Dewatering on Rotary Vacuum Drum Filters
Skytech Ultrafab Rotary Vacuum Drum Filter Cloth is precision-woven for continuous dewatering of mining slurries, chemical precipitates, wastewater sludge, and paper pulp on rotary vacuum drum (RVD) filters. Available in polypropylene, polyester, and nylon mono/multifilament weaves with custom porosity, the cloth is manufactured to the exact drum circumference and width specifications of all major RVD OEM manufacturers.
What Is Rotary Vacuum Drum Filter Cloth?
Rotary Vacuum Drum Filters (RVDFs) are continuous filtration machines in which a slowly rotating horizontal drum — covered with filter cloth — partially submerges in a slurry trough. Vacuum applied inside the drum draws liquid through the filter cloth, depositing a filter cake on the drum exterior. As the drum rotates, the cake is washed, dried under vacuum, and then discharged by a doctor blade or string discharge mechanism. The filter cloth must combine accurate micron retention with cake release properties suited to the specific process.

Features and Benefits
-
Optimised for Continuous Duty:
Woven construction engineered for 24/7 operation under continuous vacuum — dimensional stability prevents cloth sagging or slipping on the drum surface
-
Anti-Blinding Weave:
Specially designed weave patterns resist particle embedment for longer wash-cycle intervals between cloth cleaning stops
-
Superior Cake Release:
Smooth surface treatments and optimised yarn surface energy enable complete cake discharge at the doctor blade without residual cake adhesion
-
Custom Drum Dimensions:
Manufactured to exact drum circumference and face width — supplied as a joined loop or open-end cloth for on-site splicing
-
Multiple Material Options:
Polypropylene, polyester, and nylon in monofilament, multifilament, and blended yarn constructions to cover the full range of slurry chemistry
-
Edge Finishing:
Heat-sealed or sewn reinforced edges extend cloth service life at the high-wear drum edge contact zones
