High-Temperature Filtration Up to 200°C with Nomex Durability
Skytech Ultrafab Aramid (Nomex) Filter Bags are the industry standard for baghouse dust collection in environments operating continuously up to 200°C — including asphalt mixing plants, carbon black, cement, iron ore sintering, and aluminium smelting. Nomex fibre provides exceptional thermal stability, inherent flame resistance, and dimensional retention throughout its service life.
What Are Aramid / Nomex Filter Bags?
Aramid fibres are a class of heat-resistant synthetic polymer fibres. Nomex (registered trademark of DuPont) is a meta-aramid fibre widely used for its outstanding thermal and flame resistance. In baghouse filter bags, Nomex fibre is needle-punched into a felt structure that maintains full mechanical strength and filtration efficiency at temperatures that would destroy standard polyester or polypropylene bags.
Aramid – Nomex Filter Bags
Features and Benefits
-
200°C Continuous Service:
Maintains full tensile strength and filtration efficiency at 200°C continuous; handles short-term peaks to 220°C
-
Inherent Flame Resistance:
Nomex fibre is inherently non-combustible — will not melt, drip, or support flame even in oxygen-enriched environments
-
Dimensional Stability:
Nomex maintains precise bag dimensions after repeated thermal cycling, ensuring consistent pulse-jet cleaning performance
-
Chemical Resistance:
Good resistance to most acids and alkalis at moderate concentration; limited resistance to concentrated strong acids
-
PTFE Membrane Option:
ePTFE lamination on Nomex base improves emission performance and dust cake release for sub-micron efficiency
-
Long Service Life:
Nomex bags routinely achieve 2–4 year service intervals in asphalt and cement applications — superior ROI vs other high-temp materials
