What Is a Cartridge Filter Housing?

A cartridge filter housing is a pressure vessel designed to hold one or more cylindrical filter cartridges through which process fluid is passed for filtration. Liquid enters the housing, flows through the cartridge media from outside to inside (or inside to outside), and exits in a clarified state. The housing provides the structural pressure containment, the inlet and outlet connections, and the sealing surfaces that hold the cartridge in place. Housing selection — material, pressure rating, cartridge count, and connection type — is as important as cartridge selection for reliable filtration system performance.
