Skytech Ultrafab Sewn/Welded Filter Bags are available in both precision-stitched and thermally/ultrasonically welded seam constructions to meet the most demanding liquid filtration specifications. Sewn bags use heavy-duty chemically resistant thread for robust multi-pass durability; welded bags eliminate stitch holes entirely for zero-bypass, absolute-rated filtration. Manufactured from felt, woven, or membrane media in polypropylene, polyester, nylon, and PTFE.

What Are Sewn and Welded Filter Bags?

Standard liquid filter bags use a sewn seam — interlocking thread stitches that join the body fabric and bottom disc. Sewn bags are durable and economical but have microscopic needle holes along the seam that can allow a tiny fraction of particles to bypass filtration. Welded filter bags use thermal, sonic, or adhesive bonding to fuse the fabric edges without any needle penetration — creating a completely impermeable seam that guarantees zero particle bypass at the seam zone.
