What Is a PVC Bag Filter Housing?
A PVC bag filter housing is a liquid filtration vessel fabricated from polyvinyl chloride or unplasticised PVC (UPVC) instead of stainless steel or carbon steel. The chemical resistance of PVC to acids, alkalis, salts, and many oxidising agents makes it the correct choice for bag filtration of process liquids that would corrode or contaminate products in contact with metallic housings. PVC housings accept standard size 1 and size 2 liquid filter bags and provide the same filtration function as metallic housings at lower cost and with better chemical durability in corrosive service.
